PHILIP MEALEY

Philip Mealey's musical career has spanned many areas of the musical spectrum, both classical and popular. He debuted as a classical pianist in Town Hall. As an accompanist, he has worked with Johanna Meier, George Shirley, Jan Peerce and Lucine Armana. He has played many musicals over the years and two years ago was the pianist for the off-Broadway production of The Happy Prince. For several years he has been playing for Kay Armen, seen in the recently released DVD of MGM's "That's Entertainment."
Philip has been guest organist at St. Peter's in Rome and conductor of the Papal audiences since 1993. For the last five years he has been touring on the lecture-tour circuit with Father Frank McNulty in a program entitled "The Wit And Wisdom Of Broadway."
Philip is listed in ASCAP as both a composer and publisher and has arranged and published over forty songs with composer Russell Parry as well as arranging several for string quartet. Last October, he and Kay Armen performed at the Licia Albanese Puccini Foundation Gala at Tully Hall and have been invited back to perform again this October.
